- Please introduce yourself (Name, Age, Origin)
My name is Jakkapong Kaewsimma, but everybody calls me Aum. I am from Bangkok, Thailand. Growing up in Bangkok, I was always surrounded by music, entertainment, and lively performances, so being part of the Ladyboys of Bangkok feels very connected to my roots and culture.
- How long have you worked with the Ladyboys of Bangkok show?
I have been working with the Ladyboys of Bangkok for around four years now. During that time, I have travelled to many different places, met incredible people, and experienced life in a way I never imagined before joining the production.

- What first inspired you to work in cabaret and live entertainment?
I originally wanted to try something new and exciting, and when the opportunity came to join the show, I decided to take it. I have always enjoyed entertaining people and making others smile, so live performance felt like the perfect fit for me..
- What skills do you bring to the production team?
I believe I bring both mental focus and physical strength to the production. My chair balancing act requires complete concentration, patience, and body control. Every movement has to be carefully planned and timed because safety is extremely important.

- What are your main responsibilities while touring with the Ladyboys of Bangkok?
My role involves many different responsibilities, which is one of the things I enjoy most about touring life. No two days are ever the same. I help receive deliveries, assist with setting up areas around the venue, guide customers to their seats, and help wherever the team needs support. Alongside this, I also perform in the show every night.
- Can you explain your chair balancing act and how it forms part of the show?
My balancing act takes place on the middle stage surrounded closely by the audience, so everything needs to feel seamless and professional from every angle. The act takes a huge amount of practice, discipline, and physical control. I perform the routine slowly and carefully step by step to make sure the balance is stable and safe at all times.
- How does the production represent Thai entertainment and culture internationally?
The show reminds me of home in many ways. Thai entertainment is colourful, energetic, welcoming, and full of personality, and I think the Ladyboys of Bangkok captures that spirit perfectly. The
- What do you enjoy most about performing live on stage?
The best feeling for me is hearing the cheers, applause, and laughter from the audience. I enjoy knowing that I played a part in making somebody’s evening more exciting or memorable. Live performance creates a connection between the performers and the crowd that feels very special.
- Why is your role important to the overall success of the production?
I see my role as one part of a much bigger team effort. Without the people working behind the scenes, there would be no show. Everyone contributes something important, whether they are performing, building the venue, preparing costumes, stocking the bars, helping customers, or managing technical elements.
Touring life can be demanding because we spend long periods travelling and living together, but over time we become like a family. We share the highs and lows of life on the road and support each other every day. I think that strong teamwork is one of the reasons audiences can feel such good energy during the performance.
- Are your specialist performance skills difficult to replace?
Yes, I believe my specialist skills would be difficult to replace because chair balancing takes years of practice, training, and physical conditioning to perform safely and confidently. It is not something people can easily learn overnight.
