The donations our fantastic audience members gave to Safe Child Thailand at The Lady Boys of Bangkok in 2018 have helped transform the lives of children with disabilities. One of the children who has benefited from your support is Mac*. This is his story...
Mac has cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities. His parents left him with some grandparents and never contacted them again. When the grandparents got older and could not take care of themselves, they asked social welfare to take care of Mac.
Later, the social welfare office contacted Safe Child Thailand who accepted him as one of their children. Because of acid reflux, Mac has to eat by tube. At first the tube went through his nose to his stomach, but in 2017 - after three years - the doctor moved the tube straight into Mac's stomach.
In September 2017, he had an operation to separate his hips because they crossed like a pair of scissors. After the operation he got thinner, so required more nutrition.
But with your support, he now gets nutrients which have allowed him to get stronger. However, he still needs extra nutrition every day: three main meals of food such as rice, soup and vegetables blended together, and two meals of nutritious milk.
Your continuous support in 2019 will ensure that children like Mac are well looked after and given the care they desperately need to live a better life.
Remember the time our choreographer Daniel Todd took on the Great North Run? With the Lady Boys cheering him on of course! 🏃♂️ what a champion 🙌 we bet his routines for The Greatest Showgirls Tour this year are just as energetic - we hope you can keep up ladies! 😂
