This is a polluted beach in the National Park of Thailand… it shows the impact footprint of single use plastic

… but The Lady Boys are saving the world one piece of plastic at a time!

Plastic pollution, accumulation in the environment of synthetic plastic products to the point where they create problems for wildlife and their habitats as well as for human populations. Many lightweight single-use plastic products and packaging materials, which account for approximately 50 percent of all plastics produced, are not deposited in containers for subsequent removal to landfills, recycling centres, or incinerators. Instead, they are improperly disposed of at or near the location where they end their usefulness to the consumer. Most of the waste plastic is dropped on the ground, thrown out of a car window, heaped onto an already full rubbish bin, or inadvertently carried off by a gust of wind, which immediately begins to pollute the environment. Indeed, landscapes littered by plastic packaging have become common in many parts of the world. The causes and effects of plastic pollution are truly worldwide.

To face this environmental challenge, we’ve made changes to the way we serve you drinks. All drinks will be served in branded sparkling reusable plastic glasses. So really in simpler terms this just means during the show when you go to purchase your first a drink you will be charged a small deposit, refundable at the end of the evening. However, should you fall in love with it then we aren’t going to make you give it back! It’s yours! Biodegradable straws and food packaging are also being introduced as a means to reduce our plastic waste. With your help we will lessen the impact footprint of single use plastic.
