Don Ford Treasurer of PSKSP works closely with the team of The Lady Boys Of Bangkok each year and here he talks about our life changing partnership.
The Partnership between The Lady Boys of Bangkok show and the Pattaya Street Kids’ Support Project (PSKSP) has made a huge difference to the work that we have been able to do in helping the children from the slums of Pattaya.
In the current financial climate we, like most charities, have suffered a drop in income and the money donated by audiences of The Lady Boys of Bangkok show has helped us ride the drop in general donations without having to withdraw any support from the children. So far the audiences of The Lady Boys of Bangkok shows have raised over £20,000 for the PSKSP charity.
This money goes towards many different projects and here are just a few of them:

For the past four months some of the money raised from the shows has been spent to enable us to supply rice to badly disabled children, these children need a high quality grade of rice that is easily digestible and without the help of The Lady Boys of Bangkok shows' patrons many of these children would not have been able to receive a regular monthly supply.
There is one little eleven year old boy who is part of PSKSP scholarship programme and almost two years ago he tried to climb on a counter at his home and accidentally pulled a pan of boiling water and rice onto himself. |

Nonthaichai suffered horrendous burns to the lower part of his body and will require hospital treatment for many years until his body is strong enough withstand Laser treatment to soften the skin and treat the scars. Meanwhile this brave little boy needs regular visits to hospital for treatment and some of the money raised by The Lady Boys of Bangkok shows will be used to meet the costs associated with making visits to the hospital. When we went to visit Nonthachai yesterday he was his usual smiling self and continues to do well at school.
Each month we supply a food delivery comprising of Eggs, Rice, dried Fish, cooking oils and sauces to many of the scholarship students from the poorest families.

General medical treatments such as dentistry, optical and medicines and drugs for other health needs are also met from our General Funds. |

PSKSP have also been able to provide beds and bedding to children in the slums as well as carry out essential repairs to the roofs and walls of their homes. Often when it rained the children just slept in the wet. Also in the slums we have provided mosquito nets and where the homes have electricity they have supplied mosquito repellent units.
100% of every penny the PSKSP receives is used for the benefit of the children, the PSKSP trustees meet the running costs of the charity from their own resources and the management, and staff of The Lady Boys of Bangkok show give their time and effort freely. So you can be assured that your donation will help make a difference to the life of a child. |

It is only with your help that we can continue to make the lives of these children a little better by providing what we take for granted to these kids who often have nothing more than the clothes they are wearing, which more often than not are recycled from the trash. |
